here it is...the very first!
you're all probably way more advanced at this kind of thing than I am! but for those of you who are with me and have held off wanting to understand the blog phenomenon...here goes...we're all taking the plunge together!!
let me just share with you a little bit of what I got out of Charlotte's message and we can go from there....
what ended up being the most impactful for myself, was the approach to TRUE hospitality. that hospitality is not something for those we are constantly surrounded by and can easily love and easily interact with-but it is for those who are strangers! this realization and "ah-hah!" moment has awakened me from my comfortable ways and reminded me that I'm not here at Brighton AG (or at any church for that matter) for the purpose of catching up with friends or being fed myself. I can spend time with friends any day of the week...and I spend time on my own studying and growing in the word. my purpose when at church is to draw in those who might hesitate to be drawn in otherwise...and to make them feel at HOME! lord help me to see people as you see them, to love them with your love and to give them a home at this church that they might not have otherwise!
man alive what a wake up call, yeah?
